Where we actually are
Fashion is one of the most polluting industries on the planet. We are not an exception to that, so rather than claim otherwise we publish what we are doing and what we have not fixed yet.
Materials
As of June 2026, 61% of our range uses organic cotton, recycled polyester, Lyocell or European Flax certified linen. The target is 85% by 2028.
We do not use angora. Wool suppliers must certify that their clip is non-mulesed.
Production
We work with eleven factories. Nine hold a BSCI or SA8000 social audit. We visit every one of them at least twice a year and share the audit reports with our partners.
We buy small first runs and repeat on demand. That has taken first-season overstock from 23% in 2022 down to 7% in 2025.
Packaging
Since 2024 every mailer has been compostable PBAT, swing tags are FSC-certified recycled board, and garment polybags have been replaced with paper bands. Plastic per parcel is down roughly 78%.
Second lives
We repair for free: loose seams, missing buttons, split stitching, broken zips. Send the piece back to our Shanghai studio and we will return it mended at no cost.
You can also send back VELORA pieces you no longer wear. Each one earns $5 in store credit, and the garments go to partners for fibre recycling or donation.
What we have not solved
Shipping emissions are only partly offset, and our overseas warehouse is not yet on renewable power. Both are the priority for 2027.
